How much does it cost?
Lessons cost $30 for an hour of instruction. This is below the local going rate and due to my pending certification status. Students joining our program after certification will be subject to higher rates.
How long is my commitment?
No commitment is required. I do ask that you show up for each lesson that you schedule. You may schedule weekly, bi-weekly, or several times a week, space permitting. You may also join a waiting list to be called if/when another student cancels a lesson. This allows you to pick up extra last minute lessons for extra practice.
What can I expect?
You will meet your mount on the ground, learn to tack up the horse, and get a safety briefing before you climb aboard. You will begin your riding career slowly, working within your comfort level, to assure confident development of skills. We will discuss your goals and map out a course of instruction that suits you.
Where can I buy riding gear?
There are lots of great retailers online, but I use Equestrian Collections, Horseloverz.com, State LIne Tack, and Dover Saddlery most. Check for closeout specials and clearance deals.
Where is the farm?
Little Oaks Farm is just outside the city limits of San Angelo, TX. To protect the privacy of the farm owner (who lives onsite), the exact address is only given to prospective students who have an appointment to tour the farm, meet the trainers, or take a lesson. You are welcome to visit us by appointment.
